Pumpkins for sale!!

Blake wanted to earn some money to buy some toys that this mean ole Mom would spend money on. So after harvesting all 70+ pumpkins from the garden this year we decided that Blake could have a pumpkin stand. We loaded them up in the back of my car and headed to town on a FREEZING cold October morning!!

He helped unload and separate them into small, medium and large piles.

Subway snack :)

Trever stopped by to help for a bit! Did I mention it was COLD!?!?

Blake ended up making over $200. No, I did not let him spend it all. He bought some pretty sweet new toys and the rest went into savings. It was definitely a great lesson and we will be continuing this for years to come.....as long as the garden cooperates :)

Picky Kid

Pretty sure I have the pickiest kid on the planet! When he turned 18 months old he stopped eating. I have no clue how he has grown so well because the kids seriously doesn't eat. We will wait for days till the right meal comes around. I could go on and on about this subject but I will spare you the pain.

One of the things that Blake WILL not eat is potatoes. Hmm. Not a good thing since his Daddy grows potatoes. Potato chips are the only way this kids will ingest them. Well, one day for lunch I made some delicious potato soup. I wasn't even going to fight him on this one. I told him he could make him and Trever a PB&J. He was in Blake heaven!!

My Birthday!!!

I had a great birthday month this year. We went to the park for our weekly play date and my sweet friend brought chocolate cupcakes! These are some of the kiddos that we go to the park with. I have been blessed with some great friends and thankfully we all have kids about the same ages so play dates have been fun!

This is the my actual birthday. I am part of a produce coop called Bountiful Baskets! This is the sorting process... YUMMY!!! It is always a great surprise to find out what we are getting to take home that week!

So I have ALWAYS wanted to run a half marathon. I started to train for one then got pregnant with Blake. Started to train again for one and got pregnant with Trever. AHHH!!! These babies!!! So this summer I was bound and determine to run a half marathon!! I signed up for one before I even started training so that I couldn't back out! I decided on the Rock n Roll Half in Denver. It is a HUGE race and I wanted to be surrounded by lots of positive racing energy for my first big race! I wanted to make a big birthday girls weekend out of the event so I invited my sister and best friend Kellyn to join me. We left on a Friday morning and planned on coming home Sunday. We had to go to the Event Expo the night before the race to pick up my race packet.

None of us had been to IKEA before so we stopped for some shopping and ate dinner there. I carbed up on some delicious mac and cheese!

This is my friend, who I also babysit for and she used to be my teacher in middle school. She ran the race also and whooped up on me!!! We snapped this picture before the race. I actually wasn't even that nervous to my surprise. The course had local rock bands placed randomly throughout the race. It was great to keep your spirit up. Even though I felt like, well, CRAP!! My knees hurt soooo bad.

But I pushed through. I had set a goal of 2:10:00. I beat my goal by 6 minutes. Very very pleased with my finish. I can't wait to do another half marathon. I am addicted!!!

After some showering and shopping we met up with a childhood friend for a nice birthday/race celebration at the Melting Pot. We had so much fun! Lots of yummy food, drinks, and giggles were had by all!!!

We finished our weekend off by shopping on the way home from Denver. It was a great weekend and I am so thankful for my supportive husband allowing me to do this!

The Last Hurrah!

My birthday was on Saturday. I planned on getting a 6 mile run in, relaxing with my boys, volunteering for Bountiful Baskets in the afternoon then coming home and going on a date with my Love. Boy was I wrong!! I ended up waking up super sick from some issues I have been having. John ended up having to take my boys to my sweet Momma's house because I couldn't function. I laid around for the morning. I did go volunteer but wasn't feeling the greatest. I picked up my boys and by then I started getting a headache. John and I did get to go out for dinner and it was so nice being with just him. I love spending time with him!! I ended up coming home with a migraine! Seriously!! Could my birthday be any worse? Well, probably but this was all I could handle!
Yesterday was MUCH better. John went to an endurocross race in the mountains South of here and the boys and I went to church and grocery shopping. We came home and napped and by the time we got up Daddy was home!!!! We played outside for the evening and John made brauts and I made fried green tomatoes! It was the PERFECT way to end a miserable birthday weekend! And it was our last hurrah before John started digging potatoes this morning!

Look how stinkin cute my boys (all three) are!!! I am in love!!

P.S. We didn't color coordinate our shirts;)

How does that saying go?

How does that saying go? You know the one about girls are made from blah blah blah and boys are made from DIRT! Hehehehe I obviosly don't remember it AT ALL :) But anywho. It rained all day on Wednesday and was the best day ever. Every now and then my soul needs a little drizzle! It was so super cozy in the house, we cuddled a lot and watched way too many movies. It was glorious! That brings us to yesterday.

The ground was WET WET WET from all that rain! You know what wet ground breeds? Yep, worms!! Blake went worm hunting under all of my flower pots and founds some ginormaous ones! Nothing makes a boy happier than telling them, "Yes you can move mommy's flower pots and dig in the mud for worms!"

Can I just say that I LOOOOVE having boys!?!?! They have a kind of fun that is so fun to watch!

Life and I love it!

Blake is doing great with preschool. He has a memory verse that he is supposed to memorize each month. He had Phillipians 4:8 memorized in the first week! "Whatever is worthy of praise, think of these things."  He recites it randomly throughout the day and then we talk about what we are thankful for and what we should praise God for. Which has really got me thinking!

Do you ever feel like you totally don't deserve the super cool card that God has dealt you?

I have some a great husband! He takes great care of me and the boys. He is super supportive of any crazy idea I have. The latest idea is me training for a half marathon. He has been great at helping me make sure I get my runs in! He works so hard to support us financially. Such a blessing to be able to stay home with my boys.

We have such sweet little boys. They are healthy, active, mischeivious, smart and FUN!!! We giggle so much with them everyday. I love them so much!!

We had a great garden this summer and have a freezer stocked full for the winter!

We have had some great adventures this summer. Lots of family time!!

John continues to have a great job! He is so blessed to be able to work for his Uncle Keith!  Couldn't ask for a better boss.

I only have a couple kids this school year that I am babysitting and it is perfect!

Everyday I try to find some reason to whine and complain about life. What is wrong with me? I/We are soooo blessed and I thank God over and over all day long as soon as a whiny though comes to mind!

Make sure you count your blessings daily too!!!

Homeschool?

I ordered a 4 year old Christian preschool curriculum for Blake and his buddy Kaelyn. Out of the 4 oldest kids that I baby sit these two are the only ones not going to preschool this year. I have been praying about this whole school thing. I know that Blake doesn't need to attend school yet...for goodness sakes he still have two school years before kindergarten. He is gonna be in school for 13 years, why make him go so early??? BUT, I do feel that Blake is ready for some sort of learning program. He is a smart cookie and could really benefit from it. Who better to teach him than ME?? God sure does have a sense of humor right? I guess that's what you get when you let Him guide you and not take control! I don't feel that I am supposed to be homeschooling him forever but I feel that it is going to be a great start for him. I am absolutely loving the curriculum I found. I pray that this is going to set a great Christian foundation and that when he does go to public school he will be different than all the other kids!! I want him to be a kind, loving friend to everyone and not be the one at school that has to one up everyone because that is what society teaches us to do!! I want him to go to school and be a great example of what a Christian boys looks and lives like. I can hardly wait to start school with the two of them on Monday!! There will be "first day of school" pictures coming soon!!!
